Where can my The Americas prepaid Visa® Payroll Card be used?
You can use your, The Americas Visa Payroll Card to get cash at millions of ATMs, as well as use it to make purchases at merchants anywhere in the world that display the Visa®, PLUS®, STAR® or NYCE® marks. You can even use it to pay bills over the phone or the Internet.
Will I need another form of identification when I use the card?
You just need to enter your PIN number. However, depending on the merchant, they may require you to present additional identification.
What’s my credit limit?
Please keep in mind that The Americas Visa Payroll Card is not a credit card. You "store" your money in your card until you spend it. That's why ours is called a “Payroll" card. The limit you can spend is the amount of money you deposit onto the card up to $9,999 maximum. The Americas Visa Payroll Card will not accept a deposit higher than $9,999.
How is The Americas Visa Payroll Card different from a credit card?
The Americas Visa Payroll Card has important advantages over credit cards: There are no interest charges. – Whenever you DON’T pay off your outstanding credit card balance, you are charged interest at annual rates up to 18%. Because you are using your own money – not money loaned to you by the credit card company – you will never pay interest charges. You are never using anyone else’s money: you can spend only the money available on the card or money you are payed by your employer.
Can I use my The Americas Visa Payroll Card at ATMs to get cash from my account?
Yes, you can use you’re The Americas Visa Payroll Card at nearly all ATMs worldwide and at millions point of sale locations. When you request cash, select "Checking Account" when prompted. You will not receive a bill since the money is deducted directly from you account.
Can I use my card at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants?
Yes, The Americas Visa card is welcome at millions of merchants where Visa® debit cards are accepted or where you see the  PLUS®, STAR® or NYCE® marks.
I cannot use my card, what is the problem?
You must make sure that you have activated your card in order to use it, and that you have enough money in your account to cover the amount of the transaction plus the associated transaction fee. Call the toll-free number on the mailer your card came in or the toll- free number on the back of your card to activate your card. It just takes a minute.
How do I activate my card?
Call 1.800.279.6124 to activate your card. The number is also located on the back of your card and it just takes a minute.  
I have activated my card and I have money in my account, why can’t I use my card?
There are a number of reasons that you may not be able to use your card. You may not have sufficient available funds to cover the amount of your purchase plus the transaction fees, or the merchant may be experiencing problems. If you don’t believe these are the reasons, call the Customer Service number on the back of your card and we will be happy to help.
How current is my balance information?
Your balance and transaction information for your The Americas Visa Payroll Card is kept up-to-date almost instantly. Deposit information is dependent on the banking system and is generally available the next business day. Please keep in mind that transactions done the same or pre-authorizations that do not post immediately may NOT be included in your balance. 
How much information can I view at once?
The system will automatically show the last thirty (30) transactions and associated information.
Can I schedule recurring transactions?
Yes you can! However it will be determined by the merchant that you are going to set this up with. You just have to make sure that there are enough funds on your card when that recurring transaction comes due. "Recurring Transactions" are transactions that are automatically charged to your Card each month with or without your knowledge. Examples of merchants that may use recurring transactions include Internet Service Providers, Health Clubs, Insurance companies that automatically charge monthly premiums to your Card, "Book of the Month Club" type merchants, Cable TV services and the like.
I’m prompted for “ATM”, “DEBIT”, “CHECKING”, and “CREDIT” when I am paying at a retail store. What option do I pick?
Choose any of the above. Money will be deducted directly from you account either way and no future payment will be required.
I’m prompted for “SAVINGS”, “CHECKING”, “DEBIT” or “CREDIT” when I am getting cash at an ATM. What option do I pick?
Choose “CHECKING”. Money will be deducted directly from you account and no future payment will be required.
How long can I be inactive on the website before being logged out of the cardholder website?
Due to security reasons, the system automatically signs you off after about 15 minutes of inactivity. If this happens to you, you will need to re-sign in to the website.
What happens if I forget my User ID and/or password?
Go to our website at www.theamericascard.com and go to the Cardholder Login located in the top right-hand corner of the screen, click on the link next to "Forgot your User ID and/or Password" and follow directions.
What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?
Immediately call 1.800.279.6124  to report the incident. Your card will be replaced in 10 business days.
What if I need my replacement card faster than 10 business days?
You can have your replacement card expedited to you for an expedite fee plus the card replacement fee.
Can other family members get a card as well?
Yes. If you want other family members or friends to have their own account. They may apply by calling The Americas Visa Payroll Card at 1.877.202.2273.
What do I do if I have questions about my account activity?
Go to the Cardholder Login, located at the top right corner of the screen. Then go to "First Time Enrolling." Follow directions and once you are logged in you can view your balance and transactions. Also, you may obtain your balance for FREE by calling Customer Service at 1.877.202.2273.
How long is The Americas Visa Payroll Card valid before it must be renewed?
Your card will expire 3 years from the issue date. For security reasons, if you do not use your card for an extended period of time, we may put your card into an "inactive" status or may close out your account.
If my account is closed out, how do I get the funds back left on the account?
Please call Customer Service at 1.877.202.2273 and they will provide you with instructions.
How can I find out how much money is left on the card?
You can check your balance for FREE by using our secure Internet site at www.theamericascard.com. Simply go to the Cardholder Login, located at the top right corner of the screen. Then go to "First Time Enrolling." Follow directions and once you are logged in you can view your balance. . You can check your balance by using our toll-free interactive telephone service 1.800.279.6124 or at any ATM machine.
Can I use my The Americas Visa Payroll Card to pay bills to over the phone or Internet?
Yes. The Americas Card has a special arrangement to help you process bill payments using your The Americas Visa Payroll Card. You can pay bills to companies that allow telephone payments or Internet payments and that accept payments online. Call Customer Service for a complete list of payers. You must have enough funds in you card account to cover the payment and associated fee.
Can I find out about card activity at any time, or do I have to wait for a monthly statement?
You will not receive a monthly statement, unless specifically requested. All account activity is kept updated on our FREE secure Internet website at www.theamericascard.com. Simply go to the Cardholder Login, located at the top right corner of the screen. Then go to "First Time Enrolling." Follow directions and once you are logged in you can view your balance and transactions.  You can also keep track of your money 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 1.800.279.6124, our interactive telephone system. Please note for the interactive telephone system, you will be charged a small fee. Be sure to have your card number and security PIN that you created during activation ready when you call. With your card number and password you can review your balance, transaction activity, and load funds. Call our Customer Service number to transfer funds to other accounts or other The Americas Visa Payroll Card cardholders.
Is there a limit to how much I can spend from my card during one day?
$1000 per day for POS merchant, $1000 per day for ATM withdrawals.
Is there a daily maximum withdrawal limit from an ATM?
Yes. The withdrawal limits are set by the Financial Institution. Plus, the card limits the amount of money you can withdrawal from an ATM to $1000 a day. These limits are set for your protection in case your card is lost stolen or someone gets hold of your card number. Check your terms and conditions for more details.
Can I change the PIN number on my card from the one originally assigned to me?
Yes simply go to the "Cardholder Login," located at the top right corner of the screen. Then go to "First Time Enrolling" and change your pin.
How much does The Americas Visa Payroll Card cost to use?
